Cancer Support IV Nutritional Therapy
Our goal is to get you back to your normal routine as soon as you are able. There are hundreds of studies published on the effects of IV nutritional therapies with cancer treatment. IV nutrition can be used alone (aggressively) or with chemo to synergistically improve patient outcomes (Chemo works better when used with high dose vitamin C).
What is your treatment plan? This depends on what you have going on, what medications you are currently taking, if you are doing chemo, etc. Stephanie (Owner, Nurse Practitioner, FNP-C), will sit down with you for a consult and go over your past history and different treatment plan options that are in your budget, time and lifestyle. We understand this is your journey and we are just one piece of the puzzle. Cancer fighting is a multifactorial approach, including diet, lifestyle changes and supplementation (as appropriate). Stephanie will help you through this part as well.
What is used? There are multiple options to utilize during cancer treatments. Typically High Dose Vitamin C is well tolerated for many patients and depending on cancer type/treatment, Curcumin, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Phosphatidylcholine and other powerful anti-oxidants will be utilized to target cancer cells.
How do the antioxidants in the infusions kill cancer cells & not healthy cells? This is a great question commonly asked. It’s important to understand that chemo destroys good and bad cells which is why most people experience unwanted and sometimes intolerable side effects. High Dose Vitamin C kills cancer cells by breaking itself down in the body to generate hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide in the cells can damage tissue and DNA. Tumor cells with low levels of catalase enzyme activity, are much less capable of removing hydrogen peroxide than normal cells, and are susceptible to damage and death when they are exposed to high doses of vitamin C. This is where it has major benefits over chemo, because it’s targeted to the cancer cells.
